Hola Everyone!
My name is Mirca Zoraida Rivera. I am a mother, grandmother, and community leader who serves with love, care, and dedication. I am bilingual and proud of my Puerto Rican-American heritage. I was born in Lowell, raised in Lawrence, and have lived in Haverhill for the past 16 years. I have built my life around faith, family, and community.
I am running for the Haverhill School Committee – Ward 1 because I want to make a real difference for every student and family in our city. Every child—no matter their background, language, or neighborhood—should feel safe, supported, loved, and treated fairly. I want to help parents, teachers, and students work together so schools are places where every child can be connected, learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
My platform has three main priorities:
Belonging: Every student should feel seen, heard, and included.
Safety: Schools must be safe, kind, and free from bullying. Parents and teachers must be able to speak up for students’ well-being.
Equity & Fairness: Every child deserves the same chance to succeed. I will support programs and policies that help all students, especially those who need extra support.

I believe in Working Together for Our Schools: Unity is very important. We must support our teachers, support staff, and special education programs—especially during federal budget cuts. A fair budget shows we value the people who care for our students every day. By working together as one community, we can protect equity, programs, and staff who make a difference, making sure every student can succeed.
Please vote for me, Mirca Zoraida Rivera for Haverhill School Committee – Ward 1.
